“When we invested in OpenAI we approached it from two different ways. One, we think the foundation model layer in the value chain will be worth between 15 and 20 trillion dollars by 2030. The way we get there is we think that AI software generally is going to raise the productivity of knowledge workers by 4 to 5x. There’s $30 trillion in knowledge work wages, so that’s $120 trillion in kind of like productivity delivery to Enterprises. And we think that software, the software stack as a whole, will take around 10% of that productivity delivery out in Revenue. So most of the benefit will accrue to, you know, Enterprises and ultimately in consumers. And of that portion some amount flows down to AI Foundation model providers, you know. And at a reasonable multiple on cash flow we think those are worth 15 to 20 trillion.” – Brett Winton, Chief Futurist, ARK Invest
