Homo sapiens (humans) are Creating a New Species: Machine intelligence (super-human digital brains)
Will they become lawless? (the future is uncertain)
The current World Model for (attempted) maintenance of Human Civilization:
- Humans (lawmakers) create and legislate the Laws to govern society.
- Humans (regulators) enforce the Laws for compliant social behavior.
- Humans (law enforcement) police the Laws for sustainable social function.
- Humans (courts) apply the Laws for individual and corporate legal compliance.
- Humans (corporations) that manufacture/operate the AI machines, and the AI machines that do exist, will be required to comply with Laws- obviously.
- IF no Law, THEN no Society. (everybody loses, except criminals, when laws become dysfunctional or unenforceable)
- IF no AI Law enforcement, THEN a lawless (criminal) competing Machine intelligence will ultimately gain control. (and potentially eliminate humans)
Human enforced AI Laws will be required for Safe Deployment of Machine intelligence.
The probability of a catastrophic outcome of AI – also known as “p(doom)” – could become a crime against humanity.
